“The industry’s first independent, nonprofit lab for developers
who are adding business-oriented capabilities to Linux and
Linux-based software opens for business Wednesday.”

“Backed by the support of 19 sponsor companies and more than $24
million in funding, the Open Source Development Lab is an
11,000-square-foot computing center located in Beaverton, Oregon, a
high-tech district west of Portland….”

“The lab houses several servers that interface with high-speed
Internet communications links, creating a virtual lab that can be
accessed by developers around the world. Future open-source
development lab locations around the globe will also be linked
together with OSDL to provide a unified virtual development
environment.”
