Yahoo News: Tarantella Announces Industry’s First RDP Client for Linux

Emphasizing its commitment to deliver access to the broadest
range of enterprise-class applications, Tarantella, Inc. today
announced the Tarantella RDP Client for Linux software. The first
commercially supported RDP client written to Microsoft’s RDP
specification by a Microsoft licensee, the Tarantella RDP Client
for Linux will provide Linux desktop and thin client terminal users
with standard RDP-based access to Microsoft Windows applications
via Windows Server 2003 Terminal Services. In addition, the
Tarantella RDP Client for Linux also functions as a full client to
Tarantella Secure Global Desktop Terminal Services Edition software
product.

“Tarantella has been delivering innovative enterprise software
to the Linux community for over 5 years,” said Tarantella’s Chief
Marketing Officer. “The Tarantella RDP Client for Linux is the
perfect bridge for the Linux desktop user to Microsoft Windows
applications. Previously, users had to rely on RDP clients that
were either unsupported or reverse-engineered. The Tarantella RDP
Client for Linux gives enterprise users the confidence of knowing
their access to mission-critical Microsoft applications is backed
by a commercially supported client that is fully compliant with the
RDP specification licensed from Microsoft.”
