4MLinux 20.0 Distribution to Be the First to Run on UEFI PCs, Core Beta Out Now

Still powered by the long-term supported Linux 4.4 kernel series, 4MLinux 20.0 is now in development, and it looks like it incorporates the Glibc (GNU C Library) 2.23 and BusyBox 1.25.0 core components, along with GCC (GNU Compiler Collection) 6.1.0 for compiling the programs included in the final release of the GNU/Linux distribution. Usually, the independent 4MLinux distro includes software packages compiled for 32-bit, namely i686, hardware architectures, but it looks that’s about to change, as the upcoming 4MLinux 20.0 will be supported on UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) PCs with both 32- and 64-bit firmware.
