7 Basic Linux Command Lines For Beginners!

If you have just started on Linux and are already curious to try out the power of Linux command line, then you have come to the right place. With Linux, you can use some amazing tools with almost limitless functionality. Hence, we bring to you the basic command lines to try out and understand how you can do almost anything with it.

To get started, open your terminal window. It will usually start with a $ or a # followed by a blinking symbol called the prompt. So just type the command and press enter. Now start trying the below list of commands and have fun!

1. whoami

Print the user name associated with the current effective user ID. Same as id -un. use whoami –help display this help and exit , use whoami –version to output version information and exit.
