“The really cute part of the action was naming sites who linked
to the sites that carried the code as defendants; i.e. if
JoeBloe.com linked to Infringer.com they wanted to go after
JoeBloe.com as well!”

“Never mind that the allegation of impropriety on the part of
the DeCSS folks has yet to be proven.”

I am really curious why they did not name the major search
engines as codefendants; after all, by doing a search for them you
can get a plethora of links to DeCSS code…
possibly because
the search engines have the money to fight back, and would quickly
invalidate their claims that merely linking to the alleged
infringing sites was contributory infringement!”
