Annual OSS World Challenge gets start in Korea

The Korean government is hosting the OSS World Challenge, a worldwide open source programming competition with cash prizes. In an interview with opensource.com, content representative Sohee Kang says that the contest is designed to spur Korean innovation. Korea was once a leader in the IT field, “she says. “When it began to lag behind other countries, especially as open source software grew, the government realized the gravity of the situation and came up with solutions to cultivate more competent open source software developers.
