That’s right, Arch Linux 2016.11.01 is out, and it’s powered by the recently released Linux 4.8.6 kernel, which makes Arch Linux the first GNU/Linux distribution to offer a live and installable ISO image powered by the latest stable and most advanced Linux kernel version available, at least at the moment of writing this blog story. But wait, that’s not all that’s included in Arch Linux 2016.11.01, as all of the pre-installed packages have been updated to their latest versions as of November 1. Of course, that means that the new Arch Linux ISO image includes all the updated components that have been released in the stable repositories since October 1, 2016.
