Powered by Linux kernel 4.7.2, which adds better support for newer hardware components, AryaLinux 2016.08 Xfce is using the Xfce 4.12 desktop environment by default and ships with fairly recent software components, including the LibreOffice 5.1.4.2 office suite, Qt 5.7.0 toolkit, GCC (GNU Compiler Collection) 6.1.0, and Mozilla Firefox 47.0.1 web browser. The default application stack of AryaLinux 2016.08 Xfce Edition suffered some changes since the AryaLinux 2016.04 release, and it looks like the developer decided to replace the VLC Media Player and Audacious music player with the GTK+-based Parole video player and Exaile audio player. Additionally, there’s now support for the Chinese language, implemented through the ibus and ibus-rime packages.
