Black Lab Enterprise Linux 11.51 is now available for download, a minor update to the GNU/Linux distribution that includes the patches against the Meltdown security vulnerability, as well as partial protection against Spectre attacks. However, existing users need only to update their installations. Roberto J. Dohnert told us that he and his team thoroughly tested these patches, as well as the new ISO image for Black Lab Enterprise Linux, which is based on the long-term supported Ubuntu 16.04 (Xenial Xerus) operating system series, and it won’t cause any boot issues or other malfunctions to users’ computers.
