Central Command and Kaspersky Lab have announced the
availability of the first complete virus protection suite designed
specifically for Linux applications.
AntiViral ToolKit Pro
(AVP) for Linux is the first complete virus protection package to
incorporate an on-demand virus scanner, real-time virus monitor and
virus-scanning daemon with an open API (Application Program
Interface).”

“AVP for Linux, an advanced integrated suite of virus protection
applications for the Linux Operating System, provides complete
virus prevention, detection and elimination using the award-winning
AntiViral ToolKit Pro virus-scanning engine. With its advanced
features, AVP for Linux not only protects current environments from
virus infections, but is also capable of performing a variety of
functions including virus scans within e-mail databases, encoded
messages and compressed archives/programs.”

“Until now, Linux users have not had an aggressive
virus-protection package available to them,” said Keith Peer,
President of Central Command Inc. “AVP for Linux will fill the void
with a product that can be tailored to provide virus protection to
suit multiple threat levels.” The new virus-prevention tool
protects against viruses, Trojans, macro viruses, back doors,
hostile scripts and Java as well as ActiveX malicious
applications.”
