“Data Fellows Corporation…announced that its award-winning
F-Secure Anti-Virus product now supports the Solaris(TM) x86 and
Linux(TM) platforms. F-Secure Anti-Virus has now entered carrier
class in performance and manageability.”

“Rated as the world’s best anti-virus product, F-Secure
Anti-Virus now enables service providers to break away from the
restrictions imposed by older technology, such as gateway traffic
scanning, and provide world-class anti-virus protection all the way
to the end-user workstation.”

While the firewall or gateway approach does stop some
malicious code, F-Secure Anti-Virus protects against a multitude of
other sources that the gateway cannot control.
For example, it
enables service providers to offer protection against viruses
introduced inside the firewall, from diskettes and CD-ROMs. In
addition, it protects against viruses introduced through encrypted
email attachments and Internet or other network connections that
bypass the ISP.”
