second successful Linux-only event on Thursday, August 12, 1999.
With 168 exhibitors, the four-day event at the San Jose Convention
Center in San Jose, Calif., attracted 14,278 attendees. Due to the
overwhelming success of the first LinuxWorld Conference & Expo
held in March at the same venue, IDG World Expo doubled the show
floor for last week’s event, creating a 100,000 square-foot show
floor – making this the fastest growing event in IT-tradeshow
history.”
