Canonical announced Ubuntu Advantage Storage, a new software-defined storage support service. Offering a unique metered pricing model, Canonical’s new 24×7-supported software solution relies on proven Software-defined storage (SDS) technologies like Ceph, SwiftStack, and NexentaEdge, which are included in the initial offering. Also, Canonical promises that a share of the profits will go to the upstream open-source storage projects.
