If you’re reading this space, then you probably know that we’ve covered the entire development cycle of the Ubuntu Snappy Core 16, which has been in development since early September 2016, during which it received three Beta builds and two Release Candidate milestones that brought all the core features from Canonical’s latest Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) operating system, along with the newest Snappy technologies for offering the best security for IoT (Internet of Things) devices. The Ubuntu Snappy Core 16 operating system is, in fact, a slimmed down version of the Ubuntu OS, engineered to be deployed on a wide range of embedded and IoT devices, including Raspberry Pi 2 and Raspberry Pi 3 single-board computers, as well as DragonBoard 410c development boards. It’s designed from the ground up to provide users with regular and reliable security updates, and app stores for intelligent connected devices.
