Canonical and Advantech’s strategic partnership will also certify the Internet of Things (IoT) gateways manufactured by Advantech Corporation for use with the Snappy Ubuntu Core operating system, which means that users of selected Intel x86-based IoT gateways will be able to download and install a binary image of Snappy Ubuntu Core build specifically for their gateway devices. Additionally, they’ll also be able to access to various developer tools provided by Canonical, along with a bunch of services to ease the management and readiness of their device’s software and security.
