Tagged as version 1609.01, the new CentOS Linux Vagrant Box images are here with up-to-date components and GNU/Linux technologies, and consist of a minimal set of tools designed for sysadmins who are looking for an easy way to build a custom, barebone CentOS server on virtualized environments. As mentioned before, the Vagrant Box 1609.01 images are now available for both CentOS Linux 6 and 7 distribution series, which are based on the freely distributed sources of the commercial Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) operating system. An important part of CentOS, Vagrant is an open-source virtual development environment creation tool.
