Cinnamon 2.8 to Feature a Better Sound Applet with Media Controls

Cinnamon 2.8’s sound applet will feature a new layout consisting of an overlay that includes the media controls and song information, as well as the cover art in the background. Additionally, the output devices, input controls, and applications have been moved to the sound applet’s right-click context menu.
