“A federal judge declared Friday that Microsoft Corp. possesses
monopoly power in the market for PC operating systems, giving the
government a pivotal victory in the long-running antitrust
trial.

“The findings represent a major setback to Microsoft in its
defense and a sign that U.S. District Judge Thomas Penfield Jackson
will favor the government’s case when he issues his final
decision.

“In his findings of fact, Jackson said there are no current
products that pose a competitive threat to Microsoft ‘s (MSFT)
Windows operating system, and that no such products are on the
horizon.”
