Comodo Internet Security Software Earns Top Rating from Matousec.com

Clifton, NJ, November 7, 2013 – Comodo, a leading Certificate Authority and Internet security organization, today announced that their Comodo Internet Security Premium (CIS) software earned the top rating among 37 tested vendors in matousec.com’s, Proactive Security Challenge 64. After the latest update to CIS Premium 6.3, the product score jumped from 92% to 97%, making the protection level of CIS very close to perfect. Following the challenge, matousec.com named CIS the “Ultimate Protection Machine.”

The tests were carried out by matousec.com, a project run by a group of security experts focused on desktop users’ security. The most widely known project of matousec.com is called the Proactive Security Challenge 64. According to matousec.com, “To achieve all these [requirements] is a much harder task than it seems.” Matousec.com’s tests are highly regarded in the security industry because they examine whether a piece of software is fundamentally resilient to the techniques used by zero-day malware and hackers. In contrast, many other antivirus testing organizations primarily test a software’s ability to detect the signatures of blacklisted malware which is known to be malicious.

“We are delighted for CIS 6.3 to be recognized as the TOP performing internet security suite by matousec.com” said Melih Abdulhayoglu, Comodo CEO and Chief Security Architect, “because our users deserve nothing less than the best in internet security protection. Since the Proactive Security Challenge began five years ago, CIS has consistently proven that a free product can deliver equivalent or better security than any paid software through regularly placing first. Even though, CIS is unmatched at providing the best in internet security, we never stop pushing to improve our products.”

Comodo Internet Security Premium creates a highly protective shield against viruses and malware through its innovative ‘Default Deny Protection???’ system. The software uses a combination of firewall, antivirus, host intrusion prevention, automatic sandboxing and behavior analysis technologies to quickly and accurately identify safe, unsafe and questionable files. While the core CIS software is identical across all versions, the paid versions are differentiated with additional services such as live support, online storage and encryption of Wi-Fi connections at public hotspots. The free CIS Premium has also consistently earned 100% protection ratings from AV-Test.org.
