While the developers and engineers behind the very popular Debian GNU/Linux operating system are currently preparing for DebConf17, which will take place in Montr??al, Canada between August 6-12, 2017, it looks like they’ve already decided which will be the next host city, but no official dates were set for the upcoming event. It would appear that Hsinchu and Curitiba were both very strong candidates as the host city for DebConf18, but the developers decided to choose the former over the latter because this would be the first time when the annual Debian conference will take place in Asia. However, Curitiba, Brazil remains a tough contender for DebConf19.
