The final release of Linux kernel 3.9 was supposed to be released this past weekend, but because some issues remained unresolved, Linus Torvalds decided to release yet another RC release, which brings networking fixes, arch fixes (including X86, ARM, SPARC and PowerPC), as well as various improvements and some cleanup.
