“IC CAD startup Stanza Systems has brought out Linux versions of
its PolarSLE full-custom layout editor and of PolarVerify, which
performs design-rule checking, electrical-rule checking and
layout-vs.-schematic verification.”

“Sales vice president Geoffery Ying said that Stanza
(www.stanzas.com) is seeing demand for Linux-based tools and that
Linux on PCs compares well with Unix on workstations.”

“We’ve almost finished our NT port, but we haven’t had nearly as
much interest in NT as in Linux,” said Ying.”
