Coming two months after the 3.7 update, Parrot Security OS 3.8 introduces updated components and new features. But first, it’s imperative to mention that this release is based on the Debian Testing repositories, the upcoming Debian GNU/Linux 10 “Buster” operating system, which means that it uses the Linux 4.12 kernel. As for the goodies implemented in this release, we can mention ZFS support, MATE 1.18 as default desktop environment, better support for wireless cards, the latest GCC (GNU Compiler Collection) 7.2 compiler, along with GCC 6.4, OpenJDK 9 as default Java implementation, a lightweight Bitcoin client, and , and Electrum.
