Everyone will be (if not already been) hacked

Gothenburg, November 12, 2012 – ???Internet service providers, regardless if they operate a social network, or online gaming application, are waking up to the fact that password-only protection isn’t enough.??? – Oliver Piov (CEO, Gemalto).

Today we all have to agree with Piov and the proof of both positive and malicious activities carried out online are evident. Each individual who has shared any personal information with an Internet service/content provider (examples can be Gmail, Facebook, etc.) should not assume this information is protected. The LinkedIn leak of 6.5 million user passwords is a perfect example, and LinkedIn is far from the only one who can’t secure their users information. Large providers as Last.fm, PlayStation, Blizzard Entertainment, eHarmony’s dating site and latest Skype have had their user’s passwords stolen or otherwise compromised, and many financial and government controlled web sites have been attacked.

Password-only protection has been sufficient in history, but should have stayed as an anecdote for any service where the users contribute with sensitive information. Since when password-only solutions were invented more secure solutions have thankfully emerged on the market, these different solutions are good options but have limitations in meeting the changing nature of security threats. Hardware tokens have update limitations, smart cards (examples are RSA smart cards) can be hacked (though USB connections, etc.) without being noticed by the user and devices can be high jacked.

Keypasco has developed software solutions that don’t have these limitations, one by the name the EAS (Embedded Authentication Service) solution. The unique authentication solution and technology offer service/content providers??? users an unmatched combination of security and minimal change in established customer behaviour. The Keypasco solution requires no additional hardware and it reads directly on the personal computer screen, tablet or mobile device. It allows users to use personal devices securely and conveniently wherever they wish to go, the software is easily installed and works in the background on the customers??? service pages.

The Keypasco solution is only as visible as the provider would wish and can be adjusted to be a stand-alone application or a part of the established application/service. The solution leverages the unique Keypasco software to authorize a PC, MAC, and Linux devices, and support for mobile devices as iPhone, iPad, and Android will be launched during 2013. So whatever authentication needs a provider have, Keypasco works with them to offer a truly customized solution.

???The EAS Solution is a great solution since it works just like a chameleon; it can provide great stability, offering the highest of quality as a stand-alone solution but can also easily function as an add-on to an existing solution. For an example, we can combine the collected device fingerprint with additional information collected from a hardware token or a USB key, etc., to authenticate and provide update opportunities to a hardware token solution – without a launch of new tokens,??? – Per Skygebjerg (COO, Keypasco).
