Tagged as Build 171012, ExTiX 17.8 is the most recent update of the GNU/Linux distribution, which appears to be the first to be based on Canonical’s upcoming Ubuntu 17.10 (Artful Aardvark) operating system, but also borrowing some packages from the repositories of Debian GNU/Linux 9 “Stretch” OS. However, ExTiX 17.8 comes with the more lightweight LXQt 0.11.1 desktop environment instead of GNOME 3.26.1, which is pre-installed in Ubuntu 17.10, due for release on October 19, 2017. Also, the distro ships with developer’s specially crafted 4.13.0-15-exton, which is based on Linux kernel 4.13.4.
