Dubbed Beefy Miracle, Fedora 17 comes with new functionality and features, among which we can mention Linux kernel 3.4, GNOME 3.4, KDE SC 4.8, GIMP 2.8, GCC 4.7, OpenJDK 7, PHP 5.4, multitouch support, systemd integration, OpenStack Essex, and many more. It is distributed as Live CD ISO images with the GNOME and KDE desktop environments, and an installable only DVD ISO image, for both 32-bit and 64-bit architectures.
