Released a few weeks back, FFmpeg 3.1 “Laplace” was a massive release introducing numerous new features and improvements to the popular multimedia backend used by dozens of open-source and commercial software products. FFmpeg 3.1.2 is now the latest stable and most advanced version. Already available in the software repositories of the most used GNU/Linux distributions, including the powerful Arch Linux, the second maintenance update to the FFmpeg 3.1 “Laplace” series is here to update several of its core libraries, as well as to fix the most annoying bugs reported by users since the FFmpeg 3.1.1 release.
