Launched last month on June 13, 2017, Tails 3.0 is the biggest update of the GNU/Linux distribution so far, entirely based on the latest Debian GNU/Linux 9 “Stretch” operating system and designed to work only on 64-bit computers. It’s also the first release to switch to the modern GNOME 3 desktop environment by default. And now, almost three weeks later, the first point release of Tails 3.0 is out with a few updated applications, such as the latest Tor 0.3.0.9 client and server, Linux kernel 4.9.30-2 from the Debian Stretch repositories, as well as the latest security patches and a handful of bug fixes.
