From attaining valuable insights into how Linux runs ???under the hood??? and building a Linux kernel yourself tuned to your requirements, being a Software Engineer Intern in an open source setting can be very rewarding. My understanding of concepts related to cross-building, sysroots, the Linux filesystem, the boot process, containers, linkers, and dependency management were really strengthened as a whole.
