The GeckoLinux Rolling editions are currently based on the openSUSE Tumbleweed operating system, which follows a rolling release model. Same goes for the GeckoLinux Rolling spins, and the latest version, build 999.161218, was rebased on the newest Tumbleweed snapshot, 20161216 at the moment of writing this article. It looks to us like the GeckoLinux Rolling 999.161218 Editions ship with pretty much the same features as the GeckoLinux Static 422.161213 Editions, such as the replacement of the unsupported yast2-live-installer component with the Calamares universal installer framework, which lets offers a modern and powerful installer for all users.
