Pentoo 2015.0 has been in development for so long that we can’t even remember, but with this fifth Release Candidate (RC) version out, we do hope that the final, production-ready version is getting closer and closer to become reality. Of course, Pentoo 2015.0 RC5 comes with up-to-date technologies and core components, such as Linux kernel 4.4.8 LTS and Xfce 4.12. Also new in the Pentoo 2015.0 Release Candidate 5 update, the root account is no longer enabled by default when using the Live session. Users will be automatically logged in with the “pentoo” user, which, of course, has administrative privileges (sudo access), and it looks like the menu now runs sudo automatically. CUDA/OpenCL Enhanced cracking software was added as well.
