Besides various miscellaneous bug fixes, GNOME Shell 3.24.2 comes with better support for handling errors from GNOME Shell extensions during reloading when settings are being changed, improved StEntry::primary-icon-clicked emission, support for allowing search providers to offer clipboard text for results, and the ability to fetch weather information only when there’s a valid location available. On the other hand, Mutter 3.24.2 comes with a better copy and paste of UTF-8 strings between the Wayland and X.Org Server (X11) display servers, better support for non-Wayland builds, support for accessing screen coordinates on X11, a fix for a crash that occurred when Wayland clients attempted to commit to destroyed surfaces, and a fix for frame updates when the “hide-titlebar-when-maximized” option is changed.
