GNU Midnight Commander 4.8.18 brings various new capabilities and improvements to existing functionality, and, according to the release notes, it adds syntax highlighting for CUDA and GLSL (OpenGL Shading Language), refactors the widget subsystem, and makes the ALT+Enter, Ctrl+Enter, and Ctrl+Shift+Enter keyboard shortcuts bindable. Believe it or not, those are all the new features that have been implemented in the GNU Midnight Commander 4.8.18 maintenance update, despite the fact that is has been released more than four months after the previous version, namely GNU Midnight Commander 4.8.17. However, there are many bug fixes and improvements.
