Google Promotes Chrome 44 to the Beta Channel with Smoother Video Playback

Besides numerous under-the-hood performance and stability improvements, as well as the usual bug fixes, Google Chrome 44.0.2403.18 Beta promises to offer a smoother video playback experience to users, for all video content. The improved video rendering feature is possible thanks to a new cadence-based rendering algorithm implemented in Chrome, and it’s designed specifically for low-end machines that weren’t capable of rendering 4K video content.
