With Chrome 64, Google promises a more powerful pop-up blocker as more and more users submit feedback reports about the web browser blocking unwanted content like links to third-party websites masked as play buttons or other elements, as well as transparent overlays capturing all site clicks and then opening new tabs or windows. For developers, Google implemented a Resize Observer API in Chrome 64 that promises to offer granular control for web applications to recognize changes to sizes of elements on a web page. This API comes as a drop-in replacement for the window.onresize property or CSS media queries, which were for building components that adapt content to different viewport sizes.
