Enlightenment is Desktop Environment with minimal effect, clean, fast, modular and very extensible window manager for X11 and Linux.The libraries behind Enlightenment are referred to as EFL (Enlightenment Foundation Libraries) collectively, each with a specific name and purpose. Enlightenment is better than compiz. Why? I just get enough with minimal effect with minimal memory, but if you activate the ecomorph feature, that will be different story to tell.
