How to install the latest/stable version of Linux kernel on Ubuntu Linux using apt-get

By default, Ubuntu systems run with the Ubuntu kernels provided by the Ubuntu repositories. However for testing purpose or debugging purpose one can install the latest mainline Linux kernel on Ubuntu Linux. This tutorial shows how to install the the latest kernel using apt-get command on a Ubuntu Linux without compiling mainline kernel.
