[Howto] Acting on Inotify events in a shell with inotifywait

Inotify is a subsystem of the Linux kernl monitoring file systems and reporting changes to user space appliactions. In a shell like Bash, the tool inotifywait can be used to call scripts or other actions based on Inotify events.
