KaOS 2018.6 comes about two months after the KaOS 2018.04 release that celebrated the distro’s 10th anniversary. Highlights of this release include the latest KDE Plasma 5.13 desktop environment with the first point release, version 5.13.1, along with the KDE Applications 18.04.2 and KDE Frameworks 5.47.0 software suites, all build with Qt 5.11.1. KaOS 2018.06 uses the Linux 4.16.14 kernel and Mesa 18.1.2 graphics stack by default, and ships with the latest Calamares 3.2 graphical installer. Other updated components include Arch Linux’s Pacman 5.1.0 package manager, NetworkManager 1.10.10 network manager, and Wayland 1.15.0 display server.
