KDE Plasma 5.8.1 is the first of nine maintenance updates that will be provided for the long-term supported KDE Plasma 5.8 desktop environment until its end of life in April 2018, and it looks like it addresses multiple issues reported by users since the release of KDE Plasma 5.8 LTS on October 4, 2016. Among the changes, we can mention dozens of fixes for the Wayland display server, including the resize-only-boarders functionality, which should now work as expected, support for EGL_KHR_platform_x11, a patch for a crash that occurred when attempting to move the panel between two windows, and a fix for making modifier-only-shortcut work after using Alt+Tab.
