At the end of September 2016, the popular, open-source and cross-platform LibreOffice office suite celebrated 6 years of activity with the LibreOffice 5.2.2 release, and now we’re already able to upgrade our installations to LibreOffice 5.2.3, which promises to address a total of 81 bug fixes reported by the community since then. While the The Document Foundation still maintains both LibreOffice 5.1 “Still” and LibreOffice 5.2 “Fresh” branches, they are also working hard on the next major release, LibreOffice 5.3, which is currently slated for release at the end of January 2017. A first Alpha build was seeded to early adopters, and the Beta is coming at the end of November.
