Looking at the changelog, Linux kernel 4.1 Release Candidate (RC) 7 is a pretty small milestone that consists of various interesting patches to various hardware architectures, including x86 perf constraints and some SPARC updates, as well as improved staging drivers. An RC8 version is in plan, and the final release might arrive at the end of the month.
