The RC4 release of Linux kernel 4.1 is getting us closer and closer to the final version, which should arrive sometime in Summer 2015. According to Linus Torvalds, Linux kernel 4.1 RC4 is a little bit bigger that previous Release Candidate versions. It includes mostly networking improvements and updated drivers. However, Linux kernel 4.1 Release Candidate 4 brings various changes to several architectures, including ARM, ARM64, and MIPS, as well as improvements to the Btrfs and NFS filesystems.
