the new maintenance release of Linux 4.1 LTS is here to add numerous fixes to the x86 instruction set architecture, but also some fixes for the ARM, PowerPC (PPC), s390, and Xtensa hardware platforms. Many filesystems received improvements, and there are numerous updated drivers in Linux kernel 4.1.8 LTS, especially for things like ACPI (Advanced Configuration and Power Interface), ATA, USB, TTY, CLK, GPU/DRM (mostly AMD, Radeon, and Intel i915), PCI, iiO, HID, and SoC.
