These new Tumbleweed snapshots contained a lot of the latest GNU/Linux technologies and software updates, including the KDE Plasma 5.9.5 and GNOME 3.24.1 desktop environment, KDE Applications 17.04.0 software suite, KDE Frameworks 5.33.0 collection of add-ons for Qt 5, and GRUB 2.02 bootloader. The Mozilla Thunderbird 52.1.0 email and news client, and Mozilla Firefox 52.1.0 web browser also landed in the software repositories of openSUSE Tumbleweed, which is now powered by the Linux 4.10.13 kernel. Several Python packages have been ported to singlespec, and it looks like patterns-openSUSE will be replaced by new names.
