Poised to be the last in the 3.x series, Linux Lite 3.8 is here with a bunch of changes and improvements, among which we can mention the implementation of the TLP power management tool for laptops in the Lite Tweaks utility, better support for the LibreOffice office suite, a new font viewer & installer, and regional support for DVDs. Linux Lite 3.8 also ships with a Google-based search page as default homepage in the Mozilla Firefox web browser, updated help manual, new wallpapers, and up-to-date components like the Linux 4.4.0-112 kernel from Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus), Mozilla Firefox 58.0 “Quantum,” Mozilla Thunderbird 52.5.0, LibreOffice 5.1.6.2, VLC Media Player 2.2.2, and GIMP 2.8.22.
