Being the last maintenance update in the series, Lubuntu 14.04.5 LTS (Trusty Tahr) is here with an updated graphics stack and a new Linux kernel from the Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) operating system, thus refreshing the hardware support and allowing users to deploy the Lubuntu distribution on newer, modern PCs. Lubuntu 14.04.5 LTS (Trusty Tahr) is one of the fewer official Ubuntu flavors to support the PowerPC (PPC) hardware architecture along with the usual 64-bit (x86_64) and 32-bit (i386) ones. The release also brings all the updated software packages that have been pushed to through the Ubuntu repos since Lubuntu 14.04.4 LTS in February 2016.
