Lubuntu 16.10 Alpha 2 is now ready for public testing, but you shouldn’t get your hopes high because there aren’t any major changes. After all, this is an Alpha quality release, which means that it brings only core components updates and many bug fixes. The second Alpha build towards Lubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) remains powered by the same kernel packages used in the stable Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS (Xenial Xerus) operating system, and it looks like Lubuntu still hasn’t switched to the LXQt desktop environment.
