Mageia 5 GNU/Linux Operating System to Reach End of Life on New Year’s Eve

Announced on July 16, 2017, Mageia 6 is the latest stable release of the GNU/Linux distribution, incorporating some of the latest GNU/Linux technologies and Open Source applications, including the KDE Plasma 5.11 desktop environment, AppStream support, GRUB2 as default bootloader, a new Xfce Live edition, and much more. The upgrade path was also open to Mageia 5 users immediately after the release of Mageia 6, which is supported until January 16, 2019, but it looks like not all users were are able to upgrade because of various issues related to KDE4, the Nvidia proprietary graphics drivers, or other third-party packages.
