As the online news service of the German computer magazine c’t
has pointed out, an English and much longer version of the
Microsoft Germany article to warn retailers against Linux
“disadvantages” – as a Word document – can be found on the
Microsoft’s web site under the following URL:
http://www.microsoft.com/europe/industry/downloads/retail/Linux
report.doc

Netscape users that try to download the article directly from

http://www.microsoft.com/europe/industry/retail/strategicwhitepapers/2523.htm

that would be the right place at Microsoft’s homepage from which
the download should be made, won’t have success (Internet Explorer,
Konqueror, Mozilla and Opera users will get the job done).

From the English document can be seen, that Microsoft Germany
has published just a “Management Summary” translation of the
former, and that the English version goes “much deeper” in the
argumentation (the Word document has 24 pages).

Still according to the c’t, the removal of the white paper from
the Microsoft Germany homepage was by no means intentional.
